This helps us ensure that everyone, regardless of age, income, or background has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Families with low or moderate household income or those who are experiencing financial hardship are encouraged to apply. Applicants must live or work in the Summit Area YMCA service area which includes Berkeley Heights, Gillette, Millburn, New Providence, Short Hills, Springfield, Stirling and Summit.
The SAY accepts credit cards (VISA, American Express, MasterCard, or Discover) with an additional 3% service fee. EFT payments and debit card payments do not require an additional service fee.
Full Payment: Members who do not want monthly payments may be able to pay annual via cash, check or credit card. Contact Member Services for details.
Joining Fees are waived for memberships that are renewed within 45 days of expiration.
Day passes are available for $20 per day and are limited to specific locations (must be purchased for the site you plan to visit). Week passes are available for $50 (limit of 2 per 6-month period). Additional restrictions may apply.
Trial members are welcome to visit the Berkeley Heights YMCA & Summit YMCA for use of the fitness center, weight room and participate in lap swim, open gym or group exercise classes. Some restrictions apply. View our complete Trial Member Policy for details. To enter our facilities, all guests are required to sign a participation waiver (a parent/guardian must complete the waiver for minor participants under the age of 18). Guests 18 or older must present a valid photo ID upon check-in.

A Summit Area YMCA membership allows you to visit any of the 2500+ participating YMCA in the United States and Puerto Rico, at no additional cost. So, whether you are traveling on the west coast for business or visiting relatives down south, you can get your workout in and connect with the larger Y community wherever you go.
Just bring your Y membership card and a photo ID to the Y you are visiting. Some restrictions may apply or vary among the participating Ys, so outside of our locations, we recommend that you call the YMCA you plan on visiting ahead of time to ensure they participate in the Nationwide Membership program.

Every member, program participant or guest must sign an the Summit Area YMCA membership waiver prior to visiting our facility or participating in any Y programs. Parents/guardian must complete the waiver for each minor. This only has to be completed once.

MEMBERSHIP CARD / BARCODE
Membership cards / barcodes are issued to all members over the age of 13 and must be presented at Member Services each time you enter the facility. After your membership card is issued, you may also add it to the SAY Mobile App to use at check-in. Membership cards are not transferable.
ACCESS ID CARDS
Access ID cards are issued individually and are not transferrable. To receive your access card and take your photo, visit the membership desk during operating hours. A government issued photo ID must be presented for anyone over the age of 18. Prior to entering any YMCA facility, all visitors must complete our participation waiver online at www.thesay.org/waiver.

The Y does not provide make-up classes due to member absences. Classes may be rescheduled or credits issued for cancellations due to inclement weather, instructor illness, low enrollment and/or other circumstances as determined by the YMCA. Class attendance is the responsibility of the participant.
A nominal charge may apply. Transfers will be made without charge in cases of inappropriate class placement or class cancellation.
The YMCA reserves the right to cancel or combine classes due to low enrollment or other circumstances beyond its control. If we cancel any class in which you are enrolled, you will be given a full refund/credit or placed in another class. All other program specific refunds may have individual policies in place, please contact the program director for more information.
