The Summit YMCA has two heated indoor 25-yard pools for year-round lap swim, water

Every member, program participant or guest must sign an the Summit Area YMCA membership waiver prior to visiting our facility or participating in any Y programs. Parents/guardian must complete the waiver for each minor. This only has to be completed once.
All members & guests must adhere to Member Policies and Member Code of Conduct. Facility access may be denied to members & guests found in violation of the Member Code of Conduct and/or the Guest Pass Policy.

As a nonprofit, the Summit Area YMCA is committed to enhancing the lives of individuals and families in our community. We do so by offering financial assistance to those with demonstrated need so that they may enjoy all the Y has to offer, regardless of their ability to pay. This helps us ensure that everyone, regardless of age, income, or background has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Families with low or moderate household income or those who are experiencing financial hardship are encouraged to apply. Applicants must live or work in the Summit Area YMCA service area which includes Berkeley Heights, Gillette, Millburn, New Providence, Short Hills, Springfield, Stirling and Summit.
Membership cards are issued to all members over the age of 13 and must be presented at Member Services each time you enter the facility. After your membership card is issued, you may also add it to the SAY Mobile App to use at check-in. Membership cards are not transferable.
Gift Certificates for YMCA memberships or programs may be purchased in-person at the Y.
The Y does not provide make-up classes due to member absences. Classes may be rescheduled or credits issued for cancellations due to inclement weather, instructor illness, low enrollment and/or other circumstances as determined by the YMCA. Class attendance is the responsibility of the participant.
A nominal charge may apply. Transfers will be made without charge in cases of inappropriate class placement or class cancellation.
The YMCA reserves the right to cancel or combine classes due to low enrollment or other circumstances beyond its control. If we cancel any class in which you are enrolled, you will be given a full refund/credit or placed in another class. All other program specific refunds may have individual policies in place, please contact the program director for more information.
Guests are welcome to visit the Berkeley Heights YMCA & Summit YMCA for use of the fitness center, weight room and participate in lap swim, open gym or group exercise classes. Some restrictions apply. View our complete Guest Policy for details. To enter our facilities, all guests are required to sign a participation waiver (a parent/guardian must complete the waiver for minor participants under the age of 18). Guests 18 or older must present a valid photo ID upon check-in.

Automatic monthly credit card payment is an easy way to pay! Your VISA, American Express or MasterCard is debited monthly. Membership is continuous until cancelled in writing.
Full Payment: Members who do not want monthly payments can pay annually. Annual dues may be paid in full upon joining and yearly thereafter. Payments are accepted via cash, check or credit card. See Member Service desk for details.
Joining Fee: This one-time fee is due in full upon joining or rejoining, and is used to maintain buildings and equipment. The fee is waived for memberships that are renewed within 45 days of expiration.
Service Fee: To better serve our community, we will implement a service fee on cards starting August 1, 2024, to offset rising processing costs and maintain program quality.
The fee is 3% for card payments, added automatically. This fee is assessed by the Association and does not exceed the cost of acceptance.
Please note that there are no service fees associated with ACH transactions.
The YMCA reserves the right to change membership fees with a 30-day written notice to members.

The Summit Area YMCA adopts rules and regulations for the safety of its members, community and staff. In the event of severe weather, the Summit Area YMCA reserves the right to evacuate and close the pool for any designated amount of time.

The Berkeley Heights Community Pool at the YMCA adopts rules and regulations for the safety of its members, our community and staff.
Our trial memberships provide potential members with 3-day access to use the fitness center, weight room and participate in lap swim or group exercise classes at the Berkeley Heights YMCA & Summit YMCA.
Trial Membership Terms & Conditions:
• Your trial membership begins the day you sign up and expires 3 consecutive days later.
• Offer limited to one-time use per person.
• Based on our Guest Pass Policy, participating in a trial membership means you will have exhausted 3 of your 5 total guest visits to Summit Area YMCA locations per year.
• Available for guests 18 years old & older.
• Guests must present a valid photo ID upon check-in and sign our membership participation waiver at www.thesay.org/waiver.
• Guests must adhere to all member and guest participation, safety protocols, program and location specific policies. Facility access may be denied to guests found in violation of the Member’s Code of Conduct and/or the Guest Pass Policy.
• Guests are not permitted to participate in open gym or any paid program sessions. These programs are exclusively for registered members and paid participants only. Additional restrictions may apply.
• Trial membership access is limited to the Berkeley Heights YMCA & Summit YMCA only.
• Not redeemable for cash.
• Summit Area YMCA reserves the right to modify or cancel this offer at any time.
A Summit Area YMCA membership allows you to visit any of the 2500+ participating YMCA in the United States and Puerto Rico, at no additional cost. So, whether you are traveling on the west coast for business or visiting relatives down south, you can get your workout in and connect with the larger Y community wherever you go.
Just bring your Y membership card and a photo ID to the Y you are visiting. Some restrictions may apply or vary among the participating Ys, so outside of our locations, we recommend that you call the YMCA you plan on visiting ahead of time to ensure they participate in the Nationwide Membership program.
All members (over 18 months old) and visitors picking up or dropping off program participants are required to scan in with their access ID card upon entrance to our facilities. Access ID cards are issued to members individually and are not transferrable. To receive your access ID card and take your photo, visit the membership desk of the Berkeley Heights YMCA or Summit YMCA: Tuesday – Thursday from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM or 6:00-8:00 PM or Friday & Saturday from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM. A government issued photo ID must be presented for anyone over the age of 18. Prior to entering any YMCA facility, all visitors must complete our participation waiver online at www.thesay.org/waiver.
