To help empower those living with Parkinson’s Disease and Arthritis, the Summit Area YMCA offers exercise classes that help individuals manage their quality of life, coordination, range of motion, flexibility, and confidence.

PARKINSON'S DISEASE EXERCISE CLASS

PWR!Moves is a movement class designed to address Parkinson’s-related symptoms such as rigidity, bradykinesia, incoordination, and reduced self-awareness. Through functional movement skills including posture, weight shifting, spinal mobility, and movement transitions, classes support daily activities and quality of life while improving social engagement, self-efficacy, and non-motor symptoms.

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS:

Participants should be able to climb a flight of stairs without help (no steps during the class), stand up from a chair without help and be able to tolerate about 40 minutes of activity.

*There will be no classes July 3 and August 28
