Summer camps at the Summit Area YMCA provide children ages 3 years to 14 years with safe and exciting opportunities to explore, learn, create and discover the world around them. We offer a variety of unique summer camp options designed to meet your child’s interests and passions every week of summer! Under the guidance of caring, enthusiastic, trained staff members, children create lasting friendships and lifelong memories and find positive role models to look up to. Our goal is to ensure your child has the best possible summer camp experience ever!
2020 UPDATE: Due to new safety measures and limitations, some of our offerings for the 2020 summer camp season have changed. Rest assured, keeping your child safe remains our #1 priority.
Under guidance from the American Camp Association and the New Jersey Department of Health (DOH) we have incorporated and implemented several new Camp Policies and Procedures based on the New Jersey COVID-19 Youth Day Camp Standards & Guidelines in order to to continue offering the safest and highest quality summer camp program. We will continue to share any changes/updates with registered participants as additional information becomes available.

As a nonprofit, the Summit Area YMCA is committed to enhancing the lives of individuals and families in our community. We do so by offering financial assistance to those with demonstrated need so that they may enjoy all the Y has to offer, regardless of their ability to pay. This helps us ensure that everyone, regardless of age, income, or background has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Families with low or moderate household income or those who are experiencing financial hardship are encouraged to apply. Applicants must live or work in the Summit Area YMCA service area which includes Berkeley Heights, Gillette, Millburn, New Providence, Short Hills, Springfield, Stirling and Summit.
