If you are a current or returning Summit Area YMCA or Berkeley Heights Community Pool at the YMCA member with an online account, complete your membership purchase using your existing login by clicking on the register button below next to the membership option of your choice. If someone in your family has an active Summit Area YMCA Youth or Teen membership, please call (908)464-8373 or visit us in person for in-house registration so you can receive member pricing!

First timer? Welcome! Get started by clicking on the register button next to the membership option of your choice. Once you're on the registration page, click on Sign Up to create a new online account. Select Berkeley Heights Community Pool as the location, then click next to join as a Community Member, create your account and add family members as needed. You can then proceed to complete the purchase of your membership.

Please note: If you have registered for a Family or Senior Family Membership, the membership registration will be listed on the YMCA account under the person who completed the registration. If there is any confusion about which family members should have membership privileges, our Member Services Team will reach out to the purchaser to confirm whom should share the membership.

MEMBERSHIPS TYPES

Unsure which membership type you qualify for? Read through our membership type definitions below.

MEMBERSHIP TYPE DEFINITION
FAMILY Two adults (18+) and all dependents (22 years old and under), permanently residing within the same household.
ADULT Member is turning 18+ during the pool season.
SENIOR FAMILY Two adults (one whom is 62+ during the pool season) and all dependents (22 years old and under), permanently residing within the same household.
SENIOR ADULT Member is turning 62+ during the pool season.
TEEN Member is 13-17 in the calendar year of pool season. A teen member must be a minimum age of 13 or entering the 7th grade in September 2021.
NANNY Member is 16+ during the pool season and is added as a third adult onto a family membership as a caregiver who brings the family to the pool. 
MOTHER'S HELPER Member is 12+ during the pool season and is added onto a family membership as a babysitter who accompanies the family to the pool. The Mother's Helper must be accompanied by an adult on the family membership at all times.

MEMBERSHIP FEES

Membership fees are determined by the estimated cost it will take to run and operate the entire facility. The Berkeley Heights Community Pool at the YMCA operates independently from the town of Berkeley Heights and therefore is not subsidized nor is access included as a part of other Summit Area YMCA memberships.

GUESTS

With the recent loosening of restrictions by the Governor and local Health Department, we are happy to announce that we will be permitting guests during the summer 2021 season! All guests must be accompanied by a BHCPY member. Trial passes will not be available in the 2021 summer season. Some restrictions apply like limitations on some weekends/holidays or on days with special events are planned to ensure members have access to our facility comfortably. MEMBERSHIP CANCELLATION POLICY

A refund request for cancellation of full season memberships must be made in writing by the participant. A full refund will be provided for full season memberships if cancelled on or prior to the pool's opening day. Cancellations after opening day do not qualify for a refund but will be issued a credit that is valid for 12 months from the date of issue if the membership is cancelled within the first two weeks of the pool opening. A system credit of 75% will be given to members who cancel within the first 7 days. A system credit of 50% will be given to members who cancel within the first 14 days. Full season membership cancellations received after 14 days will not be honored and are not subject to credit. August & September membership rates are non-refundable. Credit may be used at any branch of the Summit Area YMCA. Programs cancelled by the YMCA will be made available for a full refund or credit. Cancellation and refund policy is subject to change. Credit/refund may take up to two weeks to process. 

ACCESS ID CARDS

Facility access ID cards will be issued for all members over ages 18 months and photos can be taken prior to the member’s first visit to BHCP. Each member is required to swipe their ID card at the entrance every time they visit the facility. Members may pick up their swipe cards and have their photos taken at the membership desk of the Berkeley Heights YMCA located at 59 Locust Ave, Berkeley Heights, NJ, 07922 beginning May 1, 2021.

As a nonprofit, the Summit Area YMCA is committed to enhancing the lives of individuals and families in our community. We do so by offering financial assistance to those with demonstrated need so that they may enjoy all the Y has to offer, regardless of their ability to pay.
