Join the Outdoor Fitness Center at the Summit YMCA

If online fitness videos and lifting laundry detergent bottles just isn’t cutting it anymore, think outside the box and join us at the Summit YMCA’s new Outdoor Fitness Center! Open to members ages 13 years and older to lift weights, press plates, row, bike and more.

Please note, an active membership is required to participate. Not a member? Join now and take advantage of our $0 Join Fee. Members also gain access to over 50 outdoor group exercise classes each week at the Berkeley Heights YMCA & Summit YMCA and the option to reserve private access to workout in the Fitness Center at the Berkeley Heights YMCA or Summit YMCA! Members can look forward to rotating through the Outdoor Fitness Center with a variety of equipment and weights including Keiser cycling bikes, Concept 2 row machine, cardio Woodway Curves, PowerSystem step boxes, Bosu balls, stability balls, weight benches with plates and bars, dumbbells and kettlebells!

The Outdoor Fitness Center will be available in 1 hour sessions starting at 6:00 AM, 7 days a week. Reservations are required to manage capacity as space is limited and are available 24 hours prior to each session start time. Walk-ins will not be accepted. EQUIPMENT LAYOUT

Members can rest assured that we are working closely with the CDC and Board of Health guidelines to ensure safety and prevention of disease. Similar to participants, Summit Area YMCA staff are also subject to health screenings and temperature checks, hand sanitizing, mask, social distancing requirements and more. Staff will be sanitizing and disinfecting all equipment before, in between and after each use and session to ensure cleanliness. YMCA equipment will also be disinfected before storage each evening with an electrostatic sprayer.

Members will be provided with disinfectant wipes, spray, disposable towels and hand sanitizer during their session. Respectfully we ask, that if you are not feeling well, have any COVID-19 related symptoms, have been in close proximity to anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or has any COVID-19 related symptoms, have traveled internationally or to any of the states on the NJ quarantine listing, you please stay home and postpone your visit to the Y.

Please note, all members must sign an updated Summit Area YMCA membership waiver online before participating in any Y activities. This only has to be completed once.

Please note that the Hurst Pool at the Summit YMCA will be closed on Sunday, March 31, 2024 and will reopen on Monday, April 8, 2024 due to regularly scheduled maintenance. Group Ex Pro will reflect amended aquatics schedules.
