MORE ROOM FOR WHAT MOVES YOU

From deep cleaning to smarter use of our studios, these August improvements at the Summit YMCA are designed with you in mind.

You asked, we listened. This month, we’re swapping two studio spaces at the Summit YMCA to make more room for in-demand classes, increase participation and enhance your overall experience. The spaces may be changing, but your favorite classes are staying, with exciting upgrades and more opportunities to move coming this fall.

A Studio Built For More

The current Cycling Studio is becoming our new Wellness Studio, a larger, more flexible space to better support growing participation for popular classes like Barre and Pilates. Expect wall to wall mirrors, new equipment including TRX, Pilates rings, gliders, HYROX gear, and a lot more room for us to grow in size and strength. Increased capacity means more members can join the classes they love without feeling squeezed in or left out.

Your favorite classes are staying on the schedule with some minor adjustments. Barre remains part of our group exercise lineup, now with more capacity in its new home.

Get Closer To The Ride

Our Cycling Studio is moving into a new, dedicated space designed to create a more intimate and immersive ride. You’ll see more classes on the schedule, so there are more times to choose your favorite rides. With upgraded sound, lighting, and floors, every rider will feel closer to the music, the instructor and the momentum of the group for a more energized experience from the moment you clip in.

Annual Maintenance Calendar

Alongside these studio improvements, our annual maintenance period gives us dedicated time to deep clean and care for the pools, fitness center and shared spaces you use every day—helping keep them clean, safe and ready for you.

FAQ

Why are we making this change?

The room swap allows us to better match each space with member demand, reduce waitlist for high demand classes, increase flexibility, improve class experiences, and create opportunities for new premium wellness programs without reducing the current class schedule.

Will my favorite classes still be offered?

Yes. Current Group Exercise classes will remain on the schedule with only minor adjustments. Some Yoga classes will move to the Wellness Studio, allowing us to serve more participants and expand our offerings.

When will the new studios open?

Room Move: September 2 & 3
Soft Launch: September 4
Full Fall Schedule: September 8

Will class times change?

Most times will stay the same. Any adjustments will be shared in advance through the SAY app, our website, and email.

Will construction disrupt my workouts?

We’re planning most of the work to happen right before the September 2 move, and we’ll do everything we can to keep classes running as usual.

Where can I workout when the fitness center is closed?

You can workout at the Berkeley Heights YMCA or use your Nationwide Membership privileges to visit another local YMCA during the two days the fitness center is closed for cleaning.

Is my membership changing?

No. Standard group exercise classes remain included as a benefit of membership.
