The Summit Area YMCA has offers a variety of sports programs for youth and adults, where we teach the basic skills and rules of the sport for age appropriate rally and games with others with a specific focus on the important values of sportsmanship and fair play. Join a clinic to improve your skills or play for fun and show off the volley star you know you are!


YOUTH INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED VOLLEYBALL CLINIC

Our Volleyball programs and clinics are designed to develop fundamental skills while encouraging good sportsmanship and teamwork. Participants can practice and improve volley and serve skills through drills and games taught by an experienced instructor. A great addition to your training, where you can practice and improve your skills.

ADULT VOLLEYBALL

Grab your friends and join us for pickup volleyball games. The Berkeley Heights YMCA offers gym sessions every week exclusively for adult volleyball (ages 13+). We also host open gym at least twice a day, so you can enjoy hours of volleyball, basketball, soccer and more - everyday!

This program is open to guests as per the Summit Area YMCA Guest Pass Policy. Additional fee required for non-members.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

The Summit Area YMCA works side-by-side with our neighbors to ensure that everyone, regardless of age, income and background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Each year, we serve more than 15,000 individuals with our free and fee-based programs and services, through the generosity of our members, donors, and partners. Families with low or moderate household income or those who are experiencing financial hardship are encouraged to apply. Applicants must live or work in the Summit Area YMCA service area which includes Berkeley Heights, Gillette, Millburn, New Providence, Short Hills, Springfield, Stirling and Summit. Financial assistance can be used for membership, child care, summer camp, enrichment and sports programs where additional fees apply, such as soccer and swimming lessons.

We'd love to have you! The Summit Area YMCA is a cause-driven, volunteer-led organization. Our volunteers are advocates for a better tomorrow. We view them as shining examples of social responsibility selflessly sharing their time, talent and treasure to advance the Y’s cause and to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families locally.

All interested volunteers will be asked to fill out an application. Once your application is received, it will be forwarded to the Branch Volunteer Coordinator at your preferred location who will contact you within 48 hours to discuss your interests and schedule an interview. To ensure the highest level of safety for our members and children, we are very careful with our employee and volunteer selection. Most volunteer positions will require your completion of new volunteer paperwork and online training, along with reference checks and your approval for a criminal background check.
