The Summit Area YMCA has soccer programs for all ages and levels. We teach the basic skills and rules of the sport, while also focusing on the important values of sportsmanship, teamwork and more. Join a clinic and improve your skills, join a league to compete or enjoy a friendly pick up game with other members!

Our co-ed Pee Wee Soccer teams are open to all community members ages 4-6.

Players will learn fundamental soccer skills, make new friends and more. Pee Wee Soccer is a beginner soccer program to develop those first ball and game skills. Each class incorporates fundamental skills development with an emphasis on instruction, structured drills and games.

YOUTH SOCCER ASSOCIATION (YSA)

The Summit Area YMCA’s Youth Soccer Association is an outdoor, non-competitive, co-ed youth sports program where children learn soccer fundamentals, make new friends, grow self-confidence and more, in a safe and fun environment. Each player receives guaranteed playing time to promote fair play. In this age group (2-8), coaches place emphasis on structured drills, positive competition, sportsmanship & teamwork. Keep your child active and engaged as they dribble, pass and shoot their way to fun as a member of our youth soccer team!

YOUTH SOCCER CLINICS

Interested in advancing your child’s soccer skills? Our soccer training clinics are designed to further develop and fine tune soccer fundamentals with a greater focus on game rules, shooting, passing and ball handling. Players will also learn offensive and defensive skills, teamwork, strategy and sportsmanship.

ADULT SOCCER

The Summit YMCA & Berkeley Heights YMCA offers multiple indoor soccer sessions weekly -- exclusively for adults. We also host open gym at least twice a day, where you can enjoy hours of soccer, basketball, volleyball and more - everyday!

This program is open to guests as per the Summit Area YMCA Guest Pass Policy. Additional fee required for non-members.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

The Summit Area YMCA works side-by-side with our neighbors to ensure that everyone, regardless of age, income and background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Each year, we serve more than 15,000 individuals with our free and fee-based programs and services, through the generosity of our members, donors, and partners. Families with low or moderate household income or those who are experiencing financial hardship are encouraged to apply. Applicants must live or work in the Summit Area YMCA service area which includes Berkeley Heights, Gillette, Millburn, New Providence, Short Hills, Springfield, Stirling and Summit. Financial assistance can be used for membership, child care, summer camp, enrichment and sports programs where additional fees apply, such as soccer and swimming lessons.

We'd love to have you! The Summit Area YMCA is a cause-driven, volunteer-led organization. Our volunteers are advocates for a better tomorrow. We view them as shining examples of social responsibility selflessly sharing their time, talent and treasure to advance the Y’s cause and to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families locally.

All interested volunteers will be asked to fill out an application. Once your application is received, it will be forwarded to the Branch Volunteer Coordinator at your preferred location who will contact you within 48 hours to discuss your interests and schedule an interview. To ensure the highest level of safety for our members and children, we are very careful with our employee and volunteer selection. Most volunteer positions will require your completion of new volunteer paperwork, online training, reference checks and your approval for a criminal background check. ACCESS ID CARDS

If you are entering the Y to pick-up or drop-off a program participant and are not a Y member, you’ll need an access ID card. Access ID cards are issued individually and are not transferrable.

To receive your access ID card and take your photo,
visit the membership desk of the Berkeley Heights YMCA or Summit YMCA:

Tuesday to Thursday from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM or 6:00-8:00 PM
Friday & Saturday from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM

A government issued photo ID must be presented for anyone over the age of 18. Prior to entering any YMCA facility, all visitors must complete our participation waiver online at www.thesay.org/waiver.
