The Summit Area YMCA’s annual Healthy Kids Day® is back and better than ever!
We are thrilled to announce this year’s event, in partnership with the Springfield Unity Project, will be held at the Springfield Community Pool on Saturday, August 24, alongside the 5th Annual David Mitchell Community Day. This event features a wide array of activities that inspire children and their families to discover the value of healthy lifestyles, emphasizing the significance of nutritious eating, physical activity, mental resilience, and the development of lifelong healthy habits.
Join us to celebrate a day packed with fun events, games, activities, open swim, sports, healthy refreshments, prizes, safety demonstrations, local vendors, and community partners. Best of all, it’s free and open to the community!
The Springfield Community Pool will be open to pool members and event attendees from 12:00 to 4:00 PM. We encourage you to fully enjoy this beautiful space as you make precious memories with your family and friends.
Please note, registration is required for all event participants and attendees, including children, parents, and guardians. A parent/guardian is required to complete the registration for minors under the age of 18. If you have not filled one out for each family member, please do so before arriving to ensure a quick and easy check-in.
ACTIVITIES
We have a variety of exciting activities promoting both mental and physical health lined up for the day:
• Open Swim
• Arts & Crafts
• Contests (Cannonball, Hula Hoop, etc.)
• Zumba
• Music by DJ Thoro
• And much more!
Plus, we’ll have numerous local vendors and information booths from local organizations.
We can’t wait to see you there.
ATTENTION: In order to use the pool, any participants ages 14 and younger must complete a Swim Evaluation and follow all BHCPY rules and policies. Swimmers are accessed based on their swimming abilities and provided designated color bracelets upon completion which reflect each swimmer’s swimming proficiency level and the areas they are allowed to go in the pool.
ABOUT HEALTHY KIDS DAY
Healthy Kids Day is the Y’s national initiative aiming to enhance health and well-being for kids and families, celebrated at over 1,500 Ys across the country by more than a million participants. When children are away from school, they can face challenges that prevent them from reaching their full potential. The Y seeks to utilize Healthy Kids Day as a springboard to help kids maintain active minds and bodies during the summer, fostering habits they can continue into the school year and beyond.
Here’s to another fantastic Healthy Kids Day®!
