SUMMIT, NJ, FEBRUARY 2022 – The Summit Area YMCA is happy to renew it's partnership with the Township of Springfield to operate the Springfield Community Pool Summer Season and Day Camp Program again in 2022. The continued collaboration between the Y, the Springfield community and the expansion of programming at the pool boosts a promising future for many years to come.
“We are so excited to be back in Springfield operating their beautiful summer pool and pool camps this summer. We had a successful summer last year thanks to the hundreds of Springfield residents who enjoyed our safe, high-quality programs that produced fun, relaxation and memories for all.” said Paul Kieltyka, President & CEO of the Summit Area YMCA. “This summer we have made several improvements to the pool and grounds of the complex that will continue to allow all users to experience the best of summer! We also look forward to expanding our menu of programming for all users both in the summer as well as year-round. The Summit Area YMCA is for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility and we look forward to celebrating this with all of Springfield this year and beyond!”
We are planning another amazing season of fun under the sun for our community to enjoy quality leisure time with family and friends, lap swim, aquatic exercise classes, competitive swim, lessons, social events, recreation, and more! The recently renovated facilities located at 44 Morrison Road, Springfield, NJ 07081 span over 15 acres providing Springfield residents with a spacious main pool, kiddie pool, water slide, diving board, lounge chairs, playground, picnic area, basketball and volleyball courts, large multi-purpose room (available for rentals), locker rooms and showers. Our estimated dates of operation are from Memorial Day through Labor Day, with pool floor improvement plans and the installation of a new diving board prior to opening.
Springfield residents and Summit Area YMCA members receive the benefit of reduced pricing, plus early bird savings, when you register for a season pass by February 28 at www.thesay.org/SCP (and use promo code: SCP2022 at checkout).
Under the guidance of the Springfield Township Committee, Terri Clinton, Chief Operating Officer of the Summit Area YMCA, who will be overlooking the operation of the Springfield Community Pool said “I’m very excited to be working with the Township of Springfield again this year. I love having the opportunity to serve, work, and give back to the town that I have lived in for the past 25 years. I’m looking forward to expanding our programming in Springfield and can’t wait to see all of our returning pool members and campers, plus those who are new to our community and the pool!”
Full and half day summer camp begins June 20, for students ages 5-13 to cool off by swimming, making new friends, playing sports and group games, and exercising their creativity with arts & crafts, STEAM activities and more. Each week is planned around a theme to provide a one of a kind experience for an unforgettable summer! Extended care (pre and post camp) will also be available onsite at the pool. Although Springfield Pool Day Camp is available to Springfield residents or children who have a parent working in Springfield, there are a variety of day camp options available at Summit Area YMCA locations all throughout summer. The Summit Area YMCA was founded in 1886 as the Young Men's Christian Association, but today, we are the Y. An association that values, and is made stronger by, its diverse people. We stand for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility – For a better us. We are committed to creating equal opportunity for all regardless of gender, age, disability, income, ethnicity, sexual orientation or religious affiliation. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive culture in which our four core values – responsibility, honesty, caring and respect – are integral to everyday operations.
Each year, as one of the area’s leading 501(c)3 charitable organizations, the Summit Area YMCA serves more than 15,000 individuals with our free and fee-based programs and services in an area spanning the New Jersey communities of Berkeley Heights, Gillette, Millburn, New Providence, Short Hills, Springfield, Stirling and Summit. Our history is rooted in working side-by-side with our neighbors to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Through the generosity of our members, donors, and partners, we are able to offer financial assistance for our programs and services to those in need.
As a nonprofit, the Summit Area YMCA is committed to enhancing the lives of individuals and families in our community so that they may enjoy all the Y has to offer, regardless of their ability to pay. It can be used for membership, childcare, summer camp, enrichment, sports programs and more where additional fees apply, such as soccer and swimming lessons.
