We are excited to announce that the Berkeley Heights YMCA and Summit YMCA are now resuming Open Gym sessions for basketball! Please be sure to review our Open Gym Guidelines in its entirety prior to participating as some operations have changed to help keep members, staff and volunteers healthy and safe.
Gym Guidelines
Members are required to bring their own basketballs.
All members must sign an updated Summit Area YMCA membership waiver online before participating in any Y activities. A parent/guardian must complete the waiver for any minor participants under the age of 18. The waiver only has to be completed once.
SIGN THE WAIVER
While members and staff are required to wear masks at all times on YMCA property, if members are engaged in rigorous activity while playing basketball they are not required to wear a mask (per Executive Order 157).
The Summit Area YMCA is adhering to CDC and Department of Health guidelines in the wearing of face masks, social distancing, attention to room capacity and program ratios and more in order to provide a safe environment for all.

Members can rest assured that the ventilations system at the Berkeley Heights YMCA is equipped with Global Plasma Solutions (GPS) needlepoint bipolar ionization technology. It is officially the first ventilation air cleaning technology to be tested and shown to inactivate the COVID-19 virus on surfaces. The latest testing shows that exposure to needlepoint bipolar ionization for 30 minutes lead to a 99.4% reduction rate on SARS-C0V-2. Additionally, the Summit YMCA has MERV-13 filters installed to clean and disinfect the air for your safety.
We can't wait to see you playing basketball in Open Gym again!
