BUILDING STRONG AND CONFIDENT SWIMMERS

SWIM LESSONS FOR ALL from AS EARLY AS 6 MONTHS

Swimming is not just a valuable life skill; it’s also a fantastic way to stay active, healthy, and confident in the water! At the Summit YMCA, we understand the importance of teaching children to swim, and our youth swim lessons are designed to provide a safe and supportive environment for kids to develop their confidence in water!

Our programs are separated by age group, which allows us to provide care tailored to children at each stage in their development. Alongside building muscle and improving cardiovascular health, children get to interact with each other in the group setting, making friends along the way!

At the Y, we also understand the importance of water safety, and our instructors focus on that topic alongside swimming skills. We ensure that our young swimmers are well-prepared for anything that comes their way! Our staff is experienced, fun, and thrilled to embark on your child’s adventure underwater!

Listed below is a short summary of our youth swim programs. Don’t miss out on the chance to have your child jumpstart their aquatic journey!

PROGRAM CHANGES

If a scheduling conflict arises and you need to switch your day and time, a Change Request Form must be completed. Any changes to swim lesson registration or transfers are subject to availability. Space is not guaranteed and all transfer requests are subject to approval by the Aquatics Director. If space is not available in the new swim lesson session day/time you’ve requested, we will contact you. Any fee differences will be charged once your request is processed. Each family is allowed one session transfer at no cost, after which a $10 change processing fee per request will be charged to your billing method on file. If your fees are reduced and result in an overpayment, the amount will be applied to your YMCA account as a system credit.

If you are withdrawing from the swim lesson program, a Change Request Form must be completed in advance to the billing date to ensure your account is adjusted appropriately. If you are withdrawing mid-program and the required minimum 2-month commitment has not been met, you will be billed for the remaining payment(s). If it has been met, you must submit this request before the 1st of the month of your upcoming billing date or it will take effect the following month. Refunds are given in accordance with the Summit Area YMCA’s refund policy. All deposits are non-refundable. A $10 service charge applies to all refunds. Credits may be used at any branch of the Summit Area YMCA. All refund requests are subject to approval by the Aquatics Director with the exception of requests for sessions cancelled by the Summit Area YMCA.

YMCA NEWS

SUMMIT AREA YMCA

BERKELEY HEIGHTS YMCA | SUMMIT YMCA | THE LEARNING CIRCLE YMCA

In 1886, we were founded as the Young Men’s Christian Association, but today, we are The Y; an association that values, and is made stronger by, its diverse people. We stand for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility — For a better us. We are committed to creating equal opportunity for all regardless of gender, age, disability, income, ethnicity, sexual orientation or religious affiliation. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive culture in which our four core values — responsibility, honesty, caring and respect — are integral to everyday operations.

Each year, as one of the area’s leading 501(c)3 charitable organizations, the Summit Area YMCA serves more than 15,000 individuals with our free and fee-based programs and services in an area spanning the New Jersey communities of Berkeley Heights, Gillette, Millburn, New Providence, Short Hills, Springfield, Stirling and Summit. Our history is rooted in working side-by-side with our neighbors to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Through the generosity of our members, donors, and partners, we are able to offer financial assistance for our programs and services to those in need.
