IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS & RESOURCES
The Summit Area YMCA refers to the CDC and the New Jersey Department of Health for guidance on COVID-19 safety for our staff, members, students, and guests. Please review the following information and resources for specific details and information.
RE: Summit Area YMCA’s Mask Policy and Vaccination, Testing, and Face Covering Policy
Effective 3/7/2022, The SAY’s Mask Policy will no longer remain in effect. Additionally, The SAY’s Vaccination, Testing, and Face Covering Policy has been updated to reflect the recent guidance from the CDC and The NJ Department of Health regarding face coverings for all employees.
Summary:
• Employees are not required to wear a mask/ face covering while on duty in the SAY facilities, regardless of vaccination status.
• Employees may elect to continue to wear a mask/ face covering.
• Employees who are not fully vaccinated are still required to test weekly.
Please be aware that if you are a close contact of a positive COVID-19 case and you are not “up to date” with COVID-19 vaccination, you will be required to quarantine for 5 days. You may use PTO, NJSIC or unpaid time off during this quarantine period.
CDC Definition:
• “Up to date” means a person has received all recommended COVID-19 vaccines, including any booster dose(s) when eligible.
• “Fully vaccinated” means a person has received their primary series of COVID-19 vaccines.
Please continue to send the HR Department your updated COVID-19 vaccination records so we can easily determine quarantine periods if there is an exposure.

EMPLOYEE HEALTH SCREENING
One aspect of our facilities remaining open includes the mandatory health screening of all members and staff before entering the building. In an effort to streamline the required employee health screening process and ensure all employees are answering the health questions prior to each shift, you are now required to complete the questions via online form prior to each shift worked at the SAY. (For example: If you work a morning shift, 9am-12pm, and then an evening shift, 6pm-9pm, you will need to complete the health screening before each shift, two times in that single day.)
You can access this Online form from your own mobile device or at the computer by the member service desk. You will take your temperature as you enter the building and then log on to www.thesay.org/SHS where you will record your information or click the link provided below. This data is confidential and only the Human Resources Department has access.
If you answer Yes to any of the questions, you may not be permitted to enter the facility and work. You must notify your Supervisor Executive Director, or HR Department if you have had close contact with a person with COVID-19, is told to quarantine by a Physician or Public Health Official or you are positive for COVID-19.
