VETERAN'S DAY

HONORING OUR HEROES

This Veterans Day, we’re proud to stand alongside our community in honoring those who have served our country. Our YMCA branches will offer treats throughout the day for local veterans as a small gesture of gratitude for their service. Our child care students will be adorning the lobby and back entrance for the day as well.

COMMUNITY EVENTS:

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 11,  9:15 AM
VILLAGE GREEN

On , the City of Summit will host its annual Veterans Day Ceremony at the war monument on the Village Green (356 Broad Street). The event will include performances by the Summit Chorale, remarks from Navy SEAL Matt Bitter, 1st Lt. Mitchell Horn, Councilwoman Delia Hamlet, and Mayor Dr. Elizabeth Fagan, and a moving tribute to all Summit veterans. As part of the morning’s celebration, we’ll be providing refreshments on the Village Green for all attendees following the ceremony.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 11,  12:00 PM
VFW

Over in Berkeley Heights, the community is also invited to a Veterans Brunch at 12:00 PM at the VFW (15 Locust Ave) right next door to the Berkeley Heights YMCA, another wonderful opportunity to come together and thank those who have served.

Both events are open to the public, and we encourage everyone to join us in honoring our veterans and showing appreciation for their dedication and sacrifice.
