Our Holi Celebration, the Festival of Colors, is a vibrant community event that embraces joy, unity, and cultural exchange. This lively celebration brings together families and individuals to experience the rich traditions of Holi through dynamic performances, including traditional Indian dance and yoga. Attendees have the opportunity to participate in the joyous throwing of colors, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil and the arrival of spring. The event serves as a wonderful opportunity for the community to learn about and appreciate diverse cultural festivities in a welcoming and inclusive environment, reflecting the Y’s commitment to fostering belonging and understanding.

2025 Holi Celebration Preview

Holi, the festival of colors, love, and new beginnings, is a time to celebrate joy, unity, and renewal. The Summit Area YMCA invites you to experience this vibrant tradition through movement, culture, and community with a weekend of Holi-inspired yoga, dance, and arts and crafts.

This special event, open to both Y members and the public, offers an opportunity to embrace the spirit of Holi through mindful movement, uplifting music, and festive traditions.

Berkeley Heights YMCA – Saturday, March 15

  • 11:00 AM – Holi-inspired Yoga with a sharing of Holi’s history
  • 12:15 PM – Sun Salutations
  • 1:00 PM – Holi Colors Celebration
  • 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM – Kids Arts & Crafts

Summit YMCA – Sunday, March 16

  • 8:00 AM – 10:30 AM – Holi-inspired Yoga Classes (Hot Yoga, Gentle Hatha, Vinyasa)
  • 9:15 AM – 10:45 AM – Holi Yoga with Bulbul, including a discussion on Holi’s cultural significance
  • Traditional snacks will be provided
  • 10:45 AM – 11:15 AM – BollyX w/colorful scarves

Registration & Details

  • Families must register for Kids Crafts & Holi Colors.
  • A waiver is required for participation.
  • This event is free and open to the public.
