
To help empower those living with Parkinson’s Disease and Arthritis, the Summit Area YMCA offers exercise classes that help individuals manage their quality of life, coordination, range of motion, flexibility, and confidence.
A science-based exercise program that caters to improving the lifestyles of individuals with Parkinson’s Disease (PD) or Multiple Sclerosis (MS) symptoms and specific exercises that help restore lost function. These exercise classes incorporate the newest research principles of forced exercise, aerobic training and dissociated movements to retrain or optimize function for people with PD and other balance or movement disorders.

Participants should be able to climb a flight of stairs without help (no steps during the class), stand up from a chair without help and be able to tolerate about 40 minutes of activity.
