Grandparents’ Day is a great time to promote the value of togetherness and family-time activities, as well as the Y’s programs and activities
for every life stage.

On this Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance, we pay tribute to the heroes and victims who lost their lives on September 11,
and we recommit ourselves to the spirit of unity, patriotism, and service that
carried our Nation through in the days that followed

Elevate the Y’s commitment to diversity and inclusion
by celebrating the contributions and achievements,
and recognizing and uplifting the struggles of
Hispanic/Latino individuals and communities.

The International Day of Peace is observed annually on September 21.This United Nations-led observance is devoted to strengthening the ideals of
peace, and focusing on our individual and collective responsibility to foster
peace in our own communities. Use this opportunity to promote your Y’s
community-connectedness and your commitment to welcoming all.

Falls are the leading cause of injury related ER visits for older adults, the major cause ofhip fractures and responsible for more than half of fatal
head injuries. Use this week to raise awareness and prevent falls.

September 30 is National Day of Remembrance (also known as Orange ShirtDay) where Indigenous Peoples who have been (and/or continue to be) impacted by
residential boarding schools are honored and commemorated for their experiences.
Use this opportunity to encourage your staff and members to wear orange, and to
learn more about this observance.
