The Giving Tree

Spread Smiles this Holiday: Help Us Brighten a Family’s Season!

The holidays are a time for celebration, joy, and, most importantly, giving back. This season, we invite you to make a difference right here in our community by participating in the Summit Area YMCA’s Holiday Giving Tree. It’s an easy, meaningful way to help local families and children experience the magic of the season.

Why It Matters

While many of us are busy choosing gifts for our loved ones, there are families in our own neighborhoods who are struggling to make ends meet. Whether it’s paying rent, putting food on the table, or providing gifts for their children, the holidays can be an especially difficult time for those facing hardship.

Our Holiday Giving Tree Program was created to help ease these burdens. By joining this initiative, you’ll be helping ensure that children in need get to experience the joy of receiving a gift this season. Your generosity will make a real difference, creating treasured memories for families who could use a little extra cheer.

How It Works

It’s simple! Families in need have shared their children’s wish lists with us, and now, you can be the one to fulfill a child’s holiday wish. Here’s how:

  1. Visit Our Amazon Wish List: Click the link below to access our virtual Holiday Giving Tree and browse a list of carefully selected gifts for local children in need.
  2. Select a Gift: Once you find a gift, add it to your Amazon cart. You can choose one or more items—every gift makes a difference!
  3. Add a Personal Touch: While shopping, feel free to add a special note with your name or a holiday message. We will make sure it gets passed along to the families, spreading a bit of extra joy.
  4. Gift Delivery: All gifts will be shipped directly to the Summit YMCA, where we will handle distribution to local families in time for the holidays.

Additional Ways to Contribute

If you prefer to drop off your gifts in person or need assistance with shipping, you can also deliver unwrapped gifts to the following address:

Patty Facchinei
67 Maple Street
Summit, NJ 07901

Event ends on December 15th, so gifts should be dropped off or shipped by mid-December so we can ensure timely delivery to the families.

Why Your Support Matters

The Holiday Giving Tree Program is more than just about gifts—it’s about showing our neighbors that they are not alone. Your support can bring hope, joy, and a sense of community to a family in need. In a time when small acts of kindness can have a big impact, your generosity could be the highlight of someone’s year.

Let’s come together this holiday season and spread some much-needed cheer. Whether you shop the Wish List, drop off a gift, or simply share the message with friends and family, your involvement will make a world of difference to someone in need.

Thank you for helping us brighten a family’s season!

Our history is rooted in working side-by-side with our neighbors to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Through the generosity of our members, donors, and partners, we are able to offer financial assistance for our programs and services to those in need.
