Community Strong Pickleball Tournament

The Summit Area YMCA invites the community to pick up a paddle and play for a purpose at a special two-day Pickleball Tournament on Thursday, March 12 and Friday, March 13 from 6:15 PM – 8:15 PM at the Berkeley Heights YMCA. The friendly ladder-style competition is open to adults 18+ of all skill levels, with proceeds supporting the YMCA’s 2026 Community Strong Annual Campaign.

Pickleball’s social and accessible nature makes it one of the fastest-growing sports in the country. This tournament offers a fun way for players to connect with others while supporting the YMCA’s mission to strengthen community through programs that promote youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

Participants may register with a partner or sign up individually and be paired with another player. Each participant will play approximately three games per day, with matches played to 11 points. First-place winners will receive medals.

Players will only need to be present at the Y during their scheduled match times. Match schedules will be emailed to participants on Tuesday, March 10 in advance of the tournament.

2026 Community Strong Campaign

Beyond the competition, the event supports a larger purpose. The Summit Area YMCA’s 2026 Community Strong Campaign is a special 14-day celebration honoring the organization’s 140 years of service to the community since 1886. Funds raised help ensure that YMCA programs remain accessible to all.

Last year alone, the Summit Area YMCA provided $1.2 million in financial assistance and scholarships, helping children attend camp, families access childcare, seniors stay active, and individuals of all ages participate in programs and community services regardless of their ability to pay.

Through the 2026 Community Strong Campaign, the YMCA aims to raise $300,000 to continue expanding opportunities and removing financial barriers for those who need the Y most.
