Parent/Child Swim Lessons for Ages 19–35 Months

Help your toddler build confidence and comfort in the water through our Parent/Child Swim Lessons, open to children 19 to 35 months old. In this supportive 8-week course, parents and children participate together, creating a safe, playful environment to learn early swim skills and water safety practices.

Program Details:

  • Dates: May 2 – June 27, 2025
  • Day/Time: Fridays, 9:30–10:00 AM (30 minutes)
  • Location: Summit YMCA, Buntin Pool, 67 Maple Avenue, Summit, NJ 07901

About the Class:

This class introduces toddlers to the aquatic environment through exploration, encouraging them to enjoy the water while learning important skills. Parents and caregivers will be in the water alongside their child, helping them develop swim readiness through fun, confidence-building activities. Instructors also teach essential information about water safety, drowning prevention, and the importance of supervision.

Please note: “Parent” is defined broadly to include any adult with primary responsibility for raising the child—biological parents, guardians, step-parents, grandparents, and more are all welcome.
