Meditation Pajama Party: A Mindfulness Mini-Retreat for Deep Rest

You are officially invited to the most relaxed event of the season. The Meditation Pajama Party is a one-of-a-kind mindfulness mini-retreat, designed to help you step away from the stress of everyday life and ease into a state of calm, comfort, and deep rest.

Date: Sunday, May 18
Location: Berkeley Heights YMCA
Time: Guests arrive at 6:45 PM | Event starts at 7:00 PM | Hot beverages served at 8:00 PM

What to expect:

Think of it as a sleepover for your soul — minus the chatter and staying up late. This evening gathering offers you a chance to fully unwind with gentle movement, calming music, and a guided mindfulness meditation that’s all about letting go of tension and preparing your body and mind for a good night’s sleep.

This isn’t a yoga class, and it’s not a formal meditation workshop — it’s something softer, slower, and more nurturing. A space where you can just be.

We encourage everyone to come dressed in their coziest pajamas. That might mean flannel sets, fuzzy slippers, or even your favorite onesie — whatever makes you feel at ease. You’re also invited to bring a yoga mat, blanket, pillow, sleeping bag, or anything else you need to feel fully supported and comfortable as you settle into rest.

After the meditation session, we’ll close out the evening with a warm cup of tea or hot chocolate. It’s a simple but meaningful way to gather with others and ground ourselves in warmth, stillness, and connection.

This event is for anyone who could use a break, a breath, or just a quiet evening away from screens and to-do lists. Whether you’re brand new to meditation or a seasoned practitioner, you’ll find something nourishing here.

SUMMIT AREA YMCA

BERKELEY HEIGHTS YMCA | SUMMIT YMCA | THE LEARNING CIRCLE YMCA

In 1886, we were founded as the Young Men’s Christian Association, but today, we are The Y; an association that values, and is made stronger by, its diverse people. We stand for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility — For a better us. We are committed to creating equal opportunity for all regardless of gender, age, disability, income, ethnicity, sexual orientation or religious affiliation. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive culture in which our four core values — responsibility, honesty, caring and respect — are integral to everyday operations.

Each year, as one of the area’s leading 501(c)3 charitable organizations, the Summit Area YMCA serves more than 15,000 individuals with our free and fee-based programs and services in an area spanning the New Jersey communities of Berkeley Heights, Gillette, Millburn, New Providence, Short Hills, Springfield, Stirling and Summit. Our history is rooted in working side-by-side with our neighbors to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Through the generosity of our members, donors, and partners, we are able to offer financial assistance for our programs and services to those in need.

Please note that the section of Maple Street closest to the Summit YMCA will be closed from approximately 7 AM to 11 AM on Sunday, May 5, for our Mother’s Day 5K. Please use Cedar Street to access the public lot that is next to our building.
