Join the Summit Area YMCA Swim Team in a Virtual 5K!

join in our virtual 5k

All of us at the Summit Area YMCA are grateful for the outpouring of support and offers to provide assistance to our Y, staff, members and community. It is truly inspiring!

SAY Swim Team is happy to partner with the Randolph YMCA Swim Team (RANY) in organizing a Virtual 5k and 1-mile Family Run or Walk for our swimming community to stay active on land while we’re out of the water. Up for the challenge? Join us May 22, 2020 to May 29, 2020! This event is for everyone! Not a runner? Not a problem! Walk, jog, run or a combination of the three! Select your distance and have some fun!

Participation is FREE although donations are encouraged so we may continue providing critical services to our community during this time.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Because this is a virtual race, you can complete the distance whenever, however and wherever you would like! But we’d love for you to send us some pictures as you go! Share your pictures on your social media pages by tagging us and using the hashtag #SAYRANY5K

May 22, 2020 – May 29, 2020
• 1-mile Family Run/Walk = 1 mile
• 5k Run/Walk = 3.1 miles

You can measure your distance and time using your favorite fitness tracker like Map My Run, Runkeeper, Strava, Runtastic and more!

AS A REMINDER, YOUR SUPPORT IS NEEDED MORE THAN EVER TO HELP THE SUSTAINABILITY OF OUR YMCA

No one could have expected how COVID-19 would have impacted our lives. We need your support – as we pivot our efforts during this crisis, to better serve our community. Consider donating your membership dues to the Y while we are closed or make your one-time gift here. Please be sure leave a comment in the “Tribute Gift” section to that you are a SAY Swim Team family.

We miss having you all here at the Y and we hope to see you soon!

YMCA NEWS

SUMMIT AREA YMCA

BERKELEY HEIGHTS YMCA | SUMMIT YMCA | THE LEARNING CIRCLE YMCA

In 1886, we were founded as the Young Men’s Christian Association, but today, we are The Y; an association that values, and is made stronger by, its diverse people. We stand for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility — For a better us. We are committed to creating equal opportunity for all regardless of gender, age, disability, income, ethnicity, sexual orientation or religious affiliation. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive culture in which our four core values — responsibility, honesty, caring and respect — are integral to everyday operations.

Each year, as one of the area’s leading 501(c)3 charitable organizations, the Summit Area YMCA serves more than 15,000 individuals with our free and fee-based programs and services in an area spanning the New Jersey communities of Berkeley Heights, Gillette, Millburn, New Providence, Short Hills, Springfield, Stirling and Summit. Our history is rooted in working side-by-side with our neighbors to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Through the generosity of our members, donors, and partners, we are able to offer financial assistance for our programs and services to those in need.

Please note that the section of Maple Street closest to the Summit YMCA will be closed from approximately 7 AM to 11 AM on Sunday, May 5, for our Mother’s Day 5K. Please use Cedar Street to access the public lot that is next to our building.
