The Summit Area YMCA is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of our community. We are excited to offer a new program that is designed to help anyone looking to improve or maintain their cardiovascular health.
Our Cardiovascular Health exercise program runs twice a week, with one day in the fitness center and one day in a small group exercise class. This program is perfect for those who want to get into shape, but are unsure where to start. It is open to everyone, regardless of whether or not they have had a cardiac event.
The fitness center has state-of-the-art equipment, including cardio machines such as treadmills, ellipticals, and stationary bikes. Our experienced trainers will guide you through a customized workout routine that is tailored to your fitness level and goals. They will ensure that you are using the proper form and technique to maximize the effectiveness of your workout.
On the other day, you will attend a small group exercise class where you can socialize and exercise with others who are also interested in improving their cardiovascular health. Our group exercise classes are led by certified instructors who will guide you through various exercises designed to strengthen your heart and lungs.
If you are looking to improve or maintain your cardiovascular health, look no further than the Summit Area YMCA. Our exercise program is perfect for anyone who wants to get in shape and live a healthier life. We look forward to helping you achieve your fitness goals!

In 1886, we were founded as the Young Men’s Christian Association, but today, we are The Y. An association that values and is made stronger by, its diverse people. We stand for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility — For a better us. We are committed to creating equal opportunity for all regardless of gender, age, disability, income, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or religious affiliation. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive culture in which our four core values — responsibility, honesty, caring, and respect — are integral to everyday operations.
Each year, as one of the area’s leading 501(c)3 charitable organizations, the Summit Area YMCA serves more than 15,000 individuals with our free and fee-based programs and services in an area spanning the New Jersey communities of Berkeley Heights, Gillette, Millburn, New Providence, Short Hills, Springfield, Stirling, and Summit. Our history is rooted in working side-by-side with our neighbors to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Through the generosity of our members, donors, and partners, we are able to offer financial assistance for our programs and services to those in need.
