This Thanksgiving, our community showed just how powerful kindness can be. Thanks to The Oldendorp Group and the continued support of our members, staff, and partners, families across our service area were able to celebrate the holiday with comfort, connection, and a sense of belonging.
Earlier this week, 12 families received a complete Thanksgiving meal provided by The Oldendorp Group, including a turkey, apple pie, a ShopRite gift card, and all the classic fixings. Now in their seventh year of giving, their generosity continues to make a meaningful difference for families who need a little extra support during the holiday season.
In addition to this special donation, our Thanksgiving food distribution served 122 families, providing each with either a turkey, ham, or chicken along with a box of side dishes and dessert, or a gift card and apple pie . These meals were made possible through the compassion of our donors and the dedication of volunteers and staff who work year-round to expand access to healthy food.
Together, these efforts reflect our ongoing commitment to supporting neighbors not just on holidays, but every month. Our regular food distributions reach more than 160 households, helping ensure families have reliable access to nutritious meals throughout the year.
This season reminds us that community is built on generosity, and we’re grateful to everyone who helped make these Thanksgiving celebrations possible. When we come together, we lift each other up, and that’s what the Y is all about.
