Collection Drives Creating Sense of Togetherness and Empathy

The holidays are busy time for many families, and the Summit Area YMCA is here to help. We have numerous drives going on to help take stressors away for people in the local area, and you can make an impact!

Food Collection Drive

Help our community thrive by contributing to our Food Collective Drive. Food drives are not just about gathering canned goods; they are about fostering a sense of togetherness and empathy. By donating, you are providing joy and helping ensure that all our neighbors’ basic needs are met.

Winter Coat Drive

For many individuals, having a winter jacket feels like a luxury they can only dream of. At the Y, we aim to bridge this gap and supply winter coats for everyone in our local community. To do this, we need your help.

To contribute to the Winter Coat Drive, drop off clean and good condition pieces at any of our branches.

Swim Drive

We are hosting a swim drive to collect towels, goggles, and other swimming accessories to benefit our new Family Promise swim program. The program offers swim lessons at the Summit YMCA for no cost, and it is taught by volunteers.

Donations allow free programming to be possible and enables people, who otherwise may not have the opportunity, to learn how to swim!

SUMMIT AREA YMCA

BERKELEY HEIGHTS YMCA | SUMMIT YMCA | THE LEARNING CIRCLE YMCA

In 1886, we were founded as the Young Men’s Christian Association, but today, we are The Y. An association that values, and is made stronger by, its diverse people. We stand for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility — For a better us. We are committed to creating equal opportunity for all regardless of gender, age, disability, income, ethnicity, sexual orientation or religious affiliation. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive culture in which our four core values — responsibility, honesty, caring and respect — are integral to everyday operations.

Each year, as one of the area’s leading 501(c)3 charitable organizations, the Summit Area YMCA serves more than 15,000 individuals with our free and fee-based programs and services in an area spanning the New Jersey communities of Berkeley Heights, Gillette, Millburn, New Providence, Short Hills, Springfield, Stirling and Summit. Our history is rooted in working side-by-side with our neighbors to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Through the generosity of our members, donors, and partners, we are able to offer financial assistance for our programs and services to those in need.
