WHERE GENERATIONS GROW

NURTURING SUMMIT'S CHILDREN SINCE 1954

The Learning Circle YMCA is more than just a place to play—it’s where purposeful activities and caring guidance spark a lifelong love of learning. Located in the heart of Summit, come visit us and see our creative curriculum in action!

All of our early education programs at the Y implement The Creative Curriculum® for Infants, Toddlers & Twos and The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool. These are state-approved, research-based curriculums that consist of 38 objectives our teachers use for planning and assessment. The Creative Curriculum® for Infants, Toddlers & Twos supports teachers in creating both routines and individual experiences for our little ones. The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool helps teachers build on children’s confidence, creativity, and critical thinking skills, while promoting positive outcomes through studies, which are hands-on, project based investigations.

OUR TEAM

The Learning Circle YMCA Childcare Center is a full-service childcare program, offering care for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, Pre-K, and Kindergarten children. Our dedicated staff members are trained in the cognitive, physical, and social development of children, and they understand the importance of creating an environment where kids feel connected, supported, and encouraged to explore and try new things. We also recognize the vital role that families play in supporting and reinforcing their child’s growth, and we are committed to offering a caring and collaborative environment for both children and families.

The safety and well-being of your child is our highest priority. Our team is composed of experienced educators and caregivers who are trained in child development. All staff members undergo comprehensive reference and background checks, ensuring the highest level of trust and safety. Additionally, all staff are required to be certified in infant and adult CPR and First Aid to ensure immediate and effective care in any situation.

Jennifer Andrade

VP of Early Childhood Education

Having the privilege to help set the foundation for children’s early learning and development is one of the most rewarding aspects of my role. Seeing the happy faces of our youngest members each day as they learn and grow in a safe, nurturing environment brings me a sense of joy. I’m incredibly grateful to work for an organization that allows me to witness the positive impact it has on families within the community every day.

TLC Director of Program Administration

I love the YMCA's commitment to promoting youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. I am impressed by the diverse range of programs and services offered by the Y, such as childcare, youth sports, summer camps, and fitness classes. And I am very proud knowing that my everyday job improves, directly or indirectly, the lives of individuals and families in this wonderful community.

Ruby Hollingsworth

TLC Senior Program Director, PreK and ADK

I joined the Y because the YMCA merged with the stand alone childcare center where I was employed. I remained at the YMCA because I realized that my values were aligned with the core values of the Y. The best aspect of my job is working with the children, their families and the staff. I consider it a wonderful opportunity to be able to watch the children learn, grow and thrive. I love supporting the parents and working with the staff to ensure we deliver the best care and education possible.

TLC Toddler Program Director

Why not the Y? The Learning Circle YMCA has been my home away from home for 25 years. I have personally seen its direct impact on this community. I love to see children grow, learn and thrive! In my roles as preschool teacher and program director, I have been blessed to teach many children and partner with families. My favorite aspect of this position is the interactions with our members-knowing that I have positively affected their lives!

Veronica Ortiz

TLC Preschool Program Director

When I began my journey at the Y, I never expected to become part of such a vibrant community and family. I deeply appreciate everything the Y stands for and all the positive contributions it makes to both the community and its staff. If I had to highlight my favorite part of my job, it would be working with children! Their curious nature, laughter, and excitement brings me endless joy!
