The Summit Area YMCA adopts rules and regulations for the safety of its members, community and staff. In the event of severe weather, the Summit Area YMCA reserves the right to evacuate and close the pool for any designated amount of time.
Severe weather is monitored by management and evacuation will be considered when one or more of the following occurs:
1. Lightning is seen.
2. Thunder is heard.
3. A severe thunderstorm or tornado warning has been issued in our local area.
4. Notifications are received from a lightning detection network and detected to be within or approaching our local area.
All members, guests and staff are expected to comply and adhere to our evacuation and safety policies. While our pools are bonded and grounded, safety is our priority at all times.
