The Y program prides itself on being much more than just day care. When you entrust your child to the Y, we strive to fulfill our promise to make each day an opportunity for your child to learn, grow, and thrive. Caring for your child and providing them with a safe environment that stimulates creativity, socialization and youth development remains our #1 priority.
Toddler Time is a new program at the Berkeley Heights YMCA Childcare Center offering introduction to day care and socialization classes for children 2.5 to 4 years old. Toddlers will enjoy 3-hours of structured activities with our experienced and nurturing teachers 2, 3, 4 or 5 days a week, Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM. This program session runs for 6-weeks. Our curriculum places a high priority on creating an environment in the classroom that encourages children to experiment, explore, and pursue their own interests. Activities will include science and art, guided instruction during morning circle, story time, morning snack, and structured playground or gym time every class.

Creating an uplifting and supportive community has been a Y tradition from the beginning, and we don’t think anyone should be turned away because of financial constraints. As a nonprofit, the Summit Area YMCA is committed to enhancing the lives of individuals and families in our community. We do so by offering financial assistance to those with demonstrated need so that they may enjoy all the Y has to offer, regardless of their ability to pay. This helps us ensure that everyone, regardless of age, income, or background has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Families with low or moderate household income or those who are experiencing financial hardship are encouraged to apply. Applicants must live or work in the Summit Area YMCA service area which includes Berkeley Heights, Gillette, Millburn, New Providence, Short Hills, Springfield, Stirling and Summit.
