Move beyond the basics by working with a personal trainer or wellness coach and receive personalized attention in a small group format at the Berkeley Heights YMCA and Summit YMCA!

 

SMALL GROUP TRAINING


Small group training is a fun, effective and affordable way to reach your fitness goals. Our nationally recognized certified trainers lead these groups focusing on individual strengths, goals and fitness levels of the participants. Participants are grouped by goals, experience levels and availability. While closed group sessions generally last four weeks, we also offer a few drop-in training classes, like intensified Indoor Rowing. If you don’t find a Small Group that works for you, click here to join a private group or start your own (minimum of 3 required)! 

Since group size is limited, registrations are mandatory and participants can sign up online.

We offer a variety of small group training at the Summit YMCA and Berkeley Heights YMCA from indoor rowing, MX4, cardio, strength, circuit training, and more! INDOOR ROWING

SUMMIT YMCA

Get your rowing on in our Indoor Rowing small group training demo! Indoor Rowing provides a full body, low impact cardio workout. Rowing is considered one of the top five calorie burning workouts. Participants can expect to burn up to 500-700 calories in one class!

MX4

BERKELEY HEIGHTS YMCA

MX4 is a small group, motivating experience that delivers results you can see and feel. Improve cardiovascular fitness, power, strength and endurance in a way that’s right for your body and abilities. MX4 provides a mix of personal trainer attention, camaraderie and challenging progressive workouts that change weekly.

SPORT, STRENGTH, AND CONDITIONING

SUMMIT YMCA

Athletic conditioning translates into increased performance on the field, court or pool. Young athletes can step up their game in speed, agility and strength training. This small group training is for teens ages 10 to 14.

CAROLINA'S SMALL GROUP TRAINING

SUMMIT YMCA

Workout with our very own Carolina L.! Her high energy cardio and strength workout will get your heart pumping, blood flowing, and calories burning! Carolina's small group training session includes circuit training stations of weights, cardio and core work.

EVENING SMALL GROUP TRAINING

SUMMIT YMCA

This small group training is scheduled at the end of the day and will provide the option of personal training in a small group setting guided by one of our nationally certified personal trainers. Research suggests that working out in the evenings can increase physical capacity, aerobic capacity, and strength output by between 8% - 30%.
