The Member Service Representative ensures the Branch objective of improving acquisition and retention of members. Working in the membership team with both staff and volunteers, they have the vision to see new opportunities and respond to them using critical thinking. They use their creative problem-solving skills to ensure member satisfaction and retention. They handle and resolve membership concerns and inform their supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
They sell and cross sell programs and membership to reach their individual and team goals. They educate members about the Summit Area YMCA’s Annual charitable campaign to help achieve team goals. They promote the YMCA’s integrated technology, like “Mind Body” and the Y App.
The Member Service Representative conducts the daily desk operations completely and accurately. They also may conduct tours of the facility for potential members as needed or if designated.

o Effective communication, interpersonal and public relations skills.
o Strong computer skills and fast typing.
o Ability to work independently is required.
o Ability to prioritize and work in a busy environment while focusing on the task at hand.
o Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.
o Previous customer service or related experience preferred
Rate of pay $10/ hour.
M - F: Opening shift 4:45am - 9am
Mon: 1pm-6pm, 4pm-9pm
Wed: 1pm-6pm & 3pm-8pm
Thurs: 1pm-6pm & 8:30am-1pm
Fri: 1pm-6pm & 4pm-7pm
Sun: 6:45am-10:30am, 8am-12pm, 9am-2pm, 10:30am-3:30pm, 2pm-7:15pm
