Register Today for Fall Youth Soccer League!

Fall Youth Soccer is now underway, but it’s not too late to join!

Our Youth Soccer Association is the perfect place to build your 3-5 year old’s endurance, enhance their soccer skills and teach the importance of sportsmanship. The Youth Soccer Association of the Summit Area YMCA is a noncompetitive, co-ed youth sports program designed to teach kids soccer fundamentals, build self-esteem, encourage cooperative active play, build social skills, expend energy all while having fun with friends.

Keep your child active and engaged as they dribble, pass and shoot their way to fun and excitement as a member of a youth soccer team! In addition to teaching participants the fundamentals of the game, our team of caring volunteer coaches make sure kids also learn important character values including teamwork and fair play.

“The reason I signed my son Thomas up for YSA was because it was a good way to introduce him to the community he lives in.” said Monica H., mother of a YSA participant. “Since the Summit YMCA has a big presence in this community I couldn’t think of a better way for him to meet kids his age and have fun playing soccer.”

The Summit Area YMCA believes in the importance of a strong community. For kids to grow up healthy in both body and mind, the Y provides a fun and safe neutral space for participants to interact and build lasting relationships between peers, coaches and families.

Children meet each week for recreation at the lower field of Summit High School on Sundays so that busy parents are able to bond with their children on the weekends. Volunteer parent coaches are able to support their kids and the community by teaching the basic skills of the game while emphasizing the values of sportsmanship, friendships and most of all, fun!

“The YSA is a great place for kids to start their athletic career. They learn individual skills and how to work on a team. They meet new friends and they have fun,” says Volunteer Coach Terry Hayes. “YSA is also a great way for families to meet and get integrated into the community. Allison’s work in planning, coordinating, and communicating weekly makes things simple for players, parents and the coaches.”

SUMMIT AREA YMCA

BERKELEY HEIGHTS YMCA | SUMMIT YMCA | THE LEARNING CIRCLE YMCA

In 1886, we were founded as the Young Men’s Christian Association, but today, we are The Y; an association that values, and is made stronger by, its diverse people. We stand for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility — For a better us. We are committed to creating equal opportunity for all regardless of gender, age, disability, income, ethnicity, sexual orientation or religious affiliation. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive culture in which our four core values — responsibility, honesty, caring and respect — are integral to everyday operations.

Each year, as one of the area’s leading 501(c)3 charitable organizations, the Summit Area YMCA serves more than 15,000 individuals with our free and fee-based programs and services in an area spanning the New Jersey communities of Berkeley Heights, Gillette, Millburn, New Providence, Short Hills, Springfield, Stirling and Summit. Our history is rooted in working side-by-side with our neighbors to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Through the generosity of our members, donors, and partners, we are able to offer financial assistance for our programs and services to those in need.

Please note that the Hurst Pool at the Summit YMCA will be closed on Sunday, March 31, 2024 and will reopen on Monday, April 8, 2024 due to regularly scheduled maintenance. Group Ex Pro will reflect amended aquatics schedules.
