Volunteens Program

Are you a high school student interested in volunteering during the summer? Or do you need community service hours to fulfill an organizational requirement? If so, look no further than the Summit Area YMCA!

What is the YMCA VolunTeens Program?

Volunteens is a summer program for students in grades 8th – 12th who are looking to earn volunteer hours and gain experience working with a non-profit organization like the Summit Area YMCA. Teens are required to commit 3 weeks to this program and will be assigned to tasks at off-site volunteer locations based on their interests and skill set. Volunteers are responsible for their own transportation to off-site volunteer locations.

For questions or additional program information, please contact Trevor Cromwell at (908) 273-3330 Ext. 1140 or Trevor.Cromwell@thesay.org, or by filling out the form below.

What Do VolunTeens Do?

The Volunteens program provides the young adults in our community the opportunities to learn the importance of using their strengths and skills to help or provide a service towards others, especially to those seeking assistance. As a Volunteen, you will have a chance to experience different volunteer opportunities with the Y for example, assisting with youth sports, swim and childcare programs, community events like the food bank, community garden, clothing drives, off-site cleanups, the local senior center, creating content for marketing and social media and more.

Once approved to be a volunteen, you may also volunteer at any Summit Area YMCA events that call for volunteers.
