The Summit YMCA is hosting the annual Deep Freeze Swim Meet this Saturday & Sunday, February 4 & 5. As a result the pools & gymnasium will be closed. Parking around the Y will be available but limited. Members may/ visit the Berkeley Heights YMCA or other local YMCAs as part of their nationwide membership benefit.
The Special Needs Programs at the Summit Area YMCA are thoughtfully designed for children with communication, social, behavioral and learning differences to thrive in a safe, friendly and supportive environment. Our mission is to encourage, help, build and strengthen healthy physical activity, confidence, social skills and more. From yoga to structured play dates, to swim and arts and crafts, participants can enjoy a variety of activities that promote health, wellness, creative enrichment, socialization and more.
Children with diverse abilities ages 5-14 and their families are invited to join us for Sundays in Motion. This FREE monthly event at the Summit YMCA encompasses 2 hours of recreation one Sunday each month and is run by YMCA volunteers who help monitor and guide the children through an hour of gym time and a second hour in the pool. Participation is free and open to all (members and non-members). Siblings are also encouraged to join! Registration is required.
