MOVE BEYOND THE BASICS

SMALL GROUP TRAINING

Work with a personal trainer or wellness coach and receive personalized attention in a small group format at the Berkeley Heights YMCA and Summit YMCA! Small group training is a fun, effective and affordable way to reach your fitness goals. Our nationally recognized certified trainers lead these groups focusing on individual strengths, goals and fitness levels of the participants. Participants are grouped by goals, experience levels and availability. While closed group sessions generally last 4-8 weeks, we also offer a few drop-in training classes.

AVAILABLE CLASSES

We offer a variety of small group training options at the Summit YMCA and Berkeley Heights YMCA from indoor rowing, MX4, cardio, strength, circuit training, and more! Since group size is limited, pre-registration is required. Plus, if you don’t see a small group that works for you or your schedule, you can create your own!

INDOOR ROWING

SUMMIT YMCA

WED | 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM

Row your way through a full body, low impact cardio workout in our Indoor Rowing small group training series. Rowing is considered one of the top five calorie burning workouts. What’s even better? In addition to rowing, you’ll participate in cardio and strength-based training activities like kickboxing and TRX! Rowing is considered one of the top five calorie burning workouts. Participants can expect to burn up to 500-700 calories in one class!

TRX

BERKELEY HEIGHTS YMCA

TUE | 5:30 PM – 6:15 PM

Dive into the world of TRX! Crafted by a Navy SEAL, TRX isn’t just any workout – it’s all about using suspension to harness gravity. With our top-notch instructors guiding you, you’ll dangle, swing, and challenge your limits. From gravity-defying squats to aerial lunges, sculpt your core and much more. Whether you’re just starting out or a seasoned fitness aficionado, come hang with us!

Strength CIRCUIT TRAINING

BERKELEY HEIGHTS YMCA

WED | 8:45 AM – 9:30 AM

Set the tone for your day! This high energy strength training workout includes circuit stations of weights, cardio and core work. Perfect for early risers that want to start their day with a challenge and push themselves to the limit.
