All members must sign an updated Summit Area YMCA membership waiver online before participating in any Y activities. A parent/guardian must complete the waiver for any minor. The waiver only has to be completed once.
General visits to workout in the fitness center do not require a reservation, however members are required to check-in and check out of the building to maintain an accurate capacity count. We encourage members to please check the capacity before each anticipated visit to our Ys to minimize any potential wait time.
The numbers show the percentage of members checked in to the Fitness Center. We have incorporated the reduced capacity requirements into this calculation. As the number moves towards 100% it means there are more members in the facility relative to the new total capacity. Only when the capacity dashboard is at 100% will you have to wait until someone leaves to enter the facility.

SAFETY REMAINS OUR #1 PRIORITY
With guidance from the local and state authorities, we have incorporated numerous new safety measures and cleaning protocols to help keep our members, children & staff safe and healthy.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT CHECK-IN
• Members must check-in and checkout of the building so that we can record and maintain accurate building capacity limits. • We highly encourage your use of the SAY Mobile App or YMCA keychain barcode to check-in and checkout of the Y and limit direct contact with staff. • Real-time branch capacity is now available for members to view on our website and via the Info Center on the SAY Mobile App. We encourage members to check the building capacity before each anticipated visit to our Y to minimize any potential wait time. • Please be patient at check-in and allow for an additional 5-10 minutes prior to your desired workout start time so that our staff can conduct the state mandated health screenings prior to your check-in. • For visits to the Berkeley Heights YMCA, please enter through the side door (accessible via the parking lot opposite from the pool). • For visits to the Summit YMCA, please enter through the back door (accessible via the parking lot on Cedar Street). • Please maintain 6 feet of social distancing from others at all times except when getting your temperature taken by staff. • Members and staff are required to wear masks at all times in and on YMCA property as per the Governor's Executive Order.
DAILY HEALTH SCREENING
Upon check-in at each visit, the YMCA will conduct a temperature check and health screening on all members, participants and staff for fever and other COVID-19 related symptoms. If you have a fever of 100.4 or above, or answer positively to any of the health screening questions you will not be permitted entry to participate. State authorities require all members and staff wear mask upon entry, exit to our facilities and at all times inside our facilities where other members or staff are present with the exception of swimmers in our pools and outdoor group exercise participants, given they are maintaining social distancing requirements.
If you are not feeling well, have any COVID-19 related symptoms, have been in close proximity to anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or has any COVID-19 related symptoms, have travelled internationally or to any of the states on the NJ quarantine listing, we ask that you please stay home and postpone your visit to the Y.
