New Jersey YMCA State Alliance, in collaboration with The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey and Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey, is introducing a new initiative designed to encourage and support parents in having meaningful and effective conversations with their children to prevent drug use.
Directed by nationally certified trainers, this program will meet 2x a week for 12 weeks to focus on cardiovascular exercise, build muscle strength and work on flexibility in a small group non-medically supervised setting. The program is open to anyone wishing to improve or maintain cardiovascular health, whether or not they have had a cardiac event.
Also known as “The Silent Killer”, high blood pressure puts you at risk for heart disease and stroke, which are leading causes of death in the United States. Research shows that monitoring your blood pressure at least twice a month over four months may lower blood pressure in people with high blood pressure. Join the Y’s Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Program and work with a trained Healthy Heart Ambassador who will coach and encourage you throughout the 4 month program.
