Parkinson's Program

 

In an effort to empower those living with Parkinson's disease, the Summit Area YMCA now offers exercise classes that help individuals manage their quality of life, coordination, range of motion, flexibility, and more. Our program incorporates the newest research principles in aerobic training and movement to retrain and optimize function for individuals with balance and movement disorders. 

Exercise plans are adapted to all fitness levels and help regain individual mobility and independence.

GENERAL FITNESS LEVEL OR ABILITIES:
Participants should be able to climb a flight of stairs without help (no steps during the class), stand up from a chair without help and be able to tolerate about 40 minutes of activity.
