The Berkeley Heights YMCA & Summit YMCA are now offering one [1] hour private indoor Fitness Center sessions that allows you and your family full access to all that's available in the Fitness Center/Weight Room of our Y! • If you elect to participate in any indoor or outdoor Y exercise activities you are granting the Summit Area YMCA permission to reactivate your membership dues if they are currently on hold.
• Your membership will be prorated for the month from the first day you plan to attend a session.
• Each session is $25.
• Each session allows you and/or your household members private access to use the Fitness Center/Weight Room.
• Members will have full access to the fitness center, weight room or circuit room during their workout time.
• Session fees will be charged on the day of your visit to the payment method on your membership account. Please contact us below if you want to provide a new payment method.
• An active Berkeley Heights YMCA or Summit YMCA membership is required to participate and all household members must be active members on your family membership unit ages 13 and older.
• Guests or Nationwide YMCA members are not allowed to participate.
• Open to members ages 13 years and older.
• Members and staff will be required to wear masks during check-in and the health screening. Masks during workouts are optional.
• Members and staff are to maintain a social distance of 6' from others at all times and wear masks when social distancing is not possible.
• Members are encouraged to bring their own water, personal towels and floor mats if needed as there will be none provided.
• Restrooms are reserved for emergencies instances only.
• Staff will clean, disinfect and sanitize all YMCA equipment before and after each session.
• During the session, members are required to wipe down equipment after each use.
• Respectfully we ask, that if you are not feeling well, have any COVID-19 related symptoms, have been in close proximity to anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or has any COVID-19 related symptoms, have travelled internationally or to any of the states on the NJ quarantine listing, you please stay home and postpone your visit to the Y.
All members must sign an updated Summit Area YMCA membership waiver online before participating in any Y activities.
If you are planning to attend any session as a household, a waiver must be completed for each family member on the membership unit. Parents/guardian must complete the waiver for each minor child. The waiver only has to be completed once.
SIGN THE WAIVER
• Reservations are required to manage capacity. Walk-ins are not allowed.
• Reservations and session availability can be found on the Find a Class tab on the SAY Mobile App or via our online schedules.
• Reservations allow you to reserve one spot for yourself or your family.
• Reservations open 2 days prior to session time.
• Class reservations close 4 hours prior to session time.
• Please check your email before coming to the YMCA for your session to ensure we have all information needed to process your membership, as we will reach out via email if we are missing any membership information.
• Cost per session is $25 and will be charged on the day of your scheduled visit to the payment method on your membership account. Please contact if you want to provide a new payment method.
• If you reserve a session and do not cancel your reservation before the 4 hour close window, you will be charged a no show fee of $10. We are not accepting phone calls or emails to cancel reservations at this time.
RESERVATIONS
• Please plan to arrive at the YMCA front door 5-10 minutes prior to session start time so we can check-in and conduct health screenings on all participants.
• Participants who arrive after the session start time will not be allowed to enter.
• You must wear a mask as you exit your car, keep it on through the health screening and until you enter the fitness center.
• Masks during workouts are optional.
• Upon check-in, you will be required to participate in a temperature check using a touchless thermometer and a health screening where you will be asked several COVID-19 related questions (see below).
• If you have a fever of 100.4 or greater or answer positively to any of the health screening questions you will not be allowed to participate. You will not be charged any late cancellation/no show fee if this occurs.
• You will be asked to use hand sanitizer upon check-in and given a bottle of disinfectant spray and towels to clean equipment after each use.
• You must maintain 6 feet of social distancing from Y staff except when getting your temperature taken. In instances where social distancing cannot be maintained you must wear a mask.
• At the end of your session, you will leave any moveable equipment in the box labeled "Equipment to be sanitized".
• You will need to put your mask back on when leaving the fitness center and returning to your car.
Members can rest assured that we are working closely with the CDC and Board of Health guidelines to ensure safety and prevention of disease. Similar to participants, Summit Area YMCA staff are also subject to health screenings and temperature checks, hand sanitizing, mask, social distancing requirements and more. Time is reserved before and after each sessions for staff to clean, disinfect and sanitize all YMCA equipment to ensure cleanliness. YMCA equipment will also be disinfected with an electrostatic sprayer. Members will be provided with disinfectant wipes, spray, disposable towels and hand sanitizer during their session.
