At the Y, we work together each day to make a meaningful difference in the lives of everyone who walks through our doors. The Summit Area YMCA (SAY) is much more than a “gym and swim” facility. As a cause-driven organization, we welcome people of all ages and abilities, and our promise is to strengthen community and foster wellness in spirit, mind, and body.

All members and guests must sign an updated Summit Area YMCA participation waiver online before participating in any Y activities. A parent/guardian must complete the waiver for any minor. The waiver only has to be completed once.
Members are required to check-in to maintain an accurate capacity. The numbers show the percentage of members checked in to our facilities. As the number moves towards 100% it means there are more members in our Y relative to the total capacity.
Branch capacity is also available via on the SAY Mobile App.

If you haven't already done so, please visit the Y and request your membership barcode ID. Then, add the barcode ID to your SAY Mobile App to scan at check-in when you visit. As a member of the SAY, you have access to all that the Berkeley Heights YMCA & Summit YMCA both have to offer!
If you have a family membership, you can add multiple barcodes to your the app, for convenience when you check in!

With guidance from local and state authorities, we have incorporated numerous safety measures and cleaning protocols to keep our members, children, visitors & staff safe and healthy while in our Ys. Our Welcome page addresses and answers most of our members’ questions about our Y.

Our Y is proud to offer an extensive variety of indoor and outdoor fitness classes, small group training, lap swim and open gym sessions for you to choose from each week. Reservations are required for most classes. View schedules and make reservations online or via the SAY Mobile App.

When you are unable to join us in-person, you don't have to miss your workout! Our virtual fitness studio includes a growing library of on-demand workout videos that you can search through by category, instructor, intensity, target area and more for you to enjoy your workout, your way. Whenever and wherever you need it!
In under one minute, the InBody scale (located in both of our Fitness Centers) provides you with a complete body composition analysis that measures your body's muscle, weight, fat percentage, hydration levels and more. This free, in-depth tool helps manage your body’s changes and progress over time.

Volunteer in the community. Donate to help a neighbor in need. Now more than ever, we need you! As a volunteer-led, nonprofit organization, our operations run on the help of our dedicated staff, loyal volunteers, and the funds receive from magnificent donors like you. Every donation or gift of time, big or small, provides families, children, students, adults, and seniors with opportunities to participate in programs that promote our mission in strengthening others in mind, body and spirit.
