"A Togetherhood Project"- Feeding those in Need

The Summit Area YMCA's Togetherhood™ program is partnering with Summit Helping Its People (SHIP) to offer our members volunteer opportunities serving and/or cooking meals to the homeless and less fortunate members of our community. SHIP was established in 1991 and serves approximately 15,000 meals a year! The Summit Y will offer this 6 time times a year. This is a great opportunity to serve those in need and is a meaningful experience for all!


LOCATION: Oakes Center, 120 Morris Ave, Summit, NJ 07901
Entrance on Russell Place, side door, with parking entrance on Ashwood Avenue side. Go to side of the building furthest from Morris Ave. Instructions on how to enter the building with door lock code will be emailed to all volunteers from Volunteer Coordinator.

Food, plates and utensils will be provided by SHIP


You will be serving 12 - 25 participants
Teams will cook, serve food, set up tables & serving area, and cleanup.


2:00PM - Patrons begin to arrive
2:30PM - Volunteers arrive and begin setup
3:00PM - Snacks served to tables
3:45PM - Dinner served buffet style
4:45PM - Clean up and conclusion of event
