Wellness Navigation: Your First Step to Achieving Your Wellness Goals

Are you ready to begin taking your health seriously but not sure where to start? In the ever-changing world of health, fitness, and wellbeing we all seem to have many more questions than answers.

And usually our internal conversations go something like this…

“What should I eat?” Followed by… “Do I really have to exercise, I don’t have time, and if I did what should I do because I have a bad [fill in the blank… knee… shoulder… back…] Then there’s the… do I really have to drink that much water, and I know I should get more sleep but my life is so stressful…”

Sound familiar? What do you do if that sounds like you?

Welcome to Wellness Navigation at the Summit YMCA, a new way to discover and create what wellness and well ”being” can be for you.

Unbeknownst to most, the Summit YMCA has more than just a fitness center, but also an entire world of classes, equipment, trainers, wellness staff, and services that serve the youngest to the most senior in the community. With so many resources, it can easily become overwhelming, and that is where the “Wellness Navigation” program is key.

The program has been designed to not only answer a members concerns and questions, but most importantly, helps ensure accountability and motivation for individuals so that they’re successful from the start, and all along the way.

All you have to do? Speak to any Y staff member about Wellness Navigation or visit the Summit Area YMCA Wellness Navigation page to sign up. One of the Summit YMCA’s highly skilled navigators will work one-on-one with them to discover and create a very personalized approach to access the best the Summit YMCA. We ensure that the approach will best fit into your lifestyle and goals, both at the Y and outside the Y.

BERKELEY HEIGHTS YMCA | SUMMIT YMCA | THE LEARNING CIRCLE YMCA

In 1886, we were founded as the Young Men’s Christian Association, but today, we are The Y; an association that values, and is made stronger by, its diverse people. We stand for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility — For a better us. We are committed to creating equal opportunity for all regardless of gender, age, disability, income, ethnicity, sexual orientation or religious affiliation. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive culture in which our four core values — responsibility, honesty, caring and respect — are integral to everyday operations.

Each year, as one of the area’s leading 501(c)3 charitable organizations, the Summit Area YMCA serves more than 15,000 individuals with our free and fee-based programs and services in an area spanning the New Jersey communities of Berkeley Heights, Gillette, Millburn, New Providence, Short Hills, Springfield, Stirling and Summit. Our history is rooted in working side-by-side with our neighbors to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Through the generosity of our members, donors, and partners, we are able to offer financial assistance for our programs and services to those in need.

Please note that the Hurst Pool at the Summit YMCA will be closed on Sunday, March 31, 2024 and will reopen on Monday, April 8, 2024 due to regularly scheduled maintenance. Group Ex Pro will reflect amended aquatics schedules.
