Celebrating Our Volunteers: National Volunteer Week at the SAY!

Celebrate & Support Volunteers

At the Summit Area YMCA, we truly believe that our volunteers are the heart and soul of our organization. Our volunteers are truly amazing and embody the values of social responsibility and community advocacy. They selflessly dedicate their time, skills, and resources to make a positive impact on the lives of families and individuals in our community who need a helping hand.

We are proud to announce that National Volunteer Week is coming up, and we can’t wait to celebrate and honor our wonderful volunteers! National Volunteer Week will take place from April 16-22. This is the perfect opportunity for us to show our appreciation and recognize the significant contributions our volunteers make to our organization and community.

Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference in your community? To kick off National Volunteer Week, we’ll host a Volunteer Recruitment Day on Monday, April 17. We’ll be available in the lobby to share details about how you can get involved with the Y. As a special treat, we’ll also be giving away apples to all who stop by!

We’re also excited to involve our Child Care students in the festivities by having them decorate thank-you cards for our volunteers, we can’t wait to see the creativity and appreciation they bring to these heartfelt messages.

Volunteers are invited to a special Family Pool Party on Sunday, April 23, at 1:00 PM at the Summit YMCA to bring their families together and have some fun in the water!

BERKELEY HEIGHTS YMCA | SUMMIT YMCA | THE LEARNING CIRCLE YMCA

In 1886, we were founded as the Young Men’s Christian Association, but today, we are The Y. An association that values, and is made stronger by, its diverse people. We stand for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility — For a better us. We are committed to creating equal opportunity for all regardless of gender, age, disability, income, ethnicity, sexual orientation or religious affiliation. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive culture in which our four core values — responsibility, honesty, caring and respect — are integral to everyday operations.

Each year, as one of the area’s leading 501(c)3 charitable organizations, the Summit Area YMCA serves more than 15,000 individuals with our free and fee-based programs and services in an area spanning the New Jersey communities of Berkeley Heights, Gillette, Millburn, New Providence, Short Hills, Springfield, Stirling and Summit. Our history is rooted in working side-by-side with our neighbors to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Through the generosity of our members, donors, and partners, we are able to offer financial assistance for our programs and services to those in need.
