Introducing Adaptive SwimPro: A New Inclusive Swim Program at the Summit Area YMCA

Build Your Swimming Skills

The Summit Area YMCA is proud to introduce our new Adaptive SwimPro program, designed to meet the needs of swimmers with a range of abilities. This program is suitable for swimmers aged 10-25 and offers a loosely structured swim clinic that provides practice sets tailored to individual needs.

Our SAY swim team coaches and swimmers will be on hand to provide guidance and support throughout the program, helping participants to maintain and develop their swimming skills. We understand that everyone has different needs and abilities, which is why our program is designed to be adaptable and flexible. Our coaches will work with each swimmer to develop a personalized training plan that meets their unique goals and challenges. It is important to note that swimmers must already know the strokes for this conditioning program.

The program will run from April 14 - June 16, on Fridays from 6:45 - 7:30 PM, at Hurst Pool located at 67 Maple St, Summit, NJ 07901. However, please note that there will be no class on May 5th, 2023.

Whether you're looking to improve technique, build stamina, or simply enjoy the water in a safe and inclusive environment, Adaptive SwimPro is a perfect choice. We hope to see you soon!

BERKELEY HEIGHTS YMCA | SUMMIT YMCA | THE LEARNING CIRCLE YMCA

In 1886, we were founded as the Young Men's Christian Association, but today, we are The Y. An association that values and is made stronger by, its diverse people. We stand for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility — For a better us. We are committed to creating equal opportunity for all regardless of gender, age, disability, income, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or religious affiliation. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive culture in which our four core values — responsibility, honesty, caring, and respect — are integral to everyday operations.

Each year, as one of the area’s leading 501(c)3 charitable organizations, the Summit Area YMCA serves more than 15,000 individuals with our free and fee-based programs and services in an area spanning the New Jersey communities of Berkeley Heights, Gillette, Millburn, New Providence, Short Hills, Springfield, Stirling, and Summit. Our history is rooted in working side-by-side with our neighbors to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Through the generosity of our members, donors, and partners, we are able to offer financial assistance for our programs and services to those in need.
