Try our Leaders-in-Training Camp, a great opportunity for teens looking to learn leadership skills, working with children of all ages, and having lots of fun! LIT campers receive weekly leadership staff training and evaluations, and can even apply for camp counselor positions in the future! A great resume builder!
Have lots of energy and prefer to be active? Try our Sports camp (ages 6-10) or Camp Highland (ages 7-8), where campers develop skills and techniques of various sports while learning the importance of fair play and sportsmanship! After a summer of unlimited fun, wind down with our Skill Sharpener Camp (ages 8-12) by reinforcing your academic skills and kick off the new school year on the right foot! Refresh your memory on math, reading, and writing lessons to combat and prevent summer learning loss to get a head of the game when school starts again!
Whether you’re an artist, scientist, mathematician, actor, traveler, cook, or leader, the Y has a camp for you! YMCA summer camp counselors and instructors model values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Every child is taught to value the importance of difference and diversity, caring and acceptance.
The Y offers Financial Assistance to those in need, to ensure that all have the ability to participate in Y programs. For Maiya, the financial assistance program provided more than just the ability to go to camp. “When I lost my job, I was lost. The only clarity I had was that I didn’t want my children to go without. I turned to the Summit YMCA for financial assistance so that my son could attend summer camp. The staff at the Y were very welcoming, caring, and respectful—they made me feel like family and gave me the will to push forward. My son learned skills he wouldn’t have at home. He had fun, gained confidence as a swimmer and how to get along with others. The Y offered my family hope when I felt there was none. With the biggest smile from my heart, I say thank you to the YMCA.”
