Summit Area YMCA Celebrates Selection as a Stop & Shop Bloomin' 4 Good Program Beneficiary

The Summit Area YMCA has been selected as a beneficiary of the Stop & Shop Bloomin' 4 Good Program from February 26 through the month of March.

The Stop & Shop Bloomin' 4 Good Program, which launched in February 2021, is an easy way for shoppers to give back. Every $9.99 Bloomin' 4 Good Bouquet with the red circle sticker sold supports a hunger organization local to the Stop & Shop in which it was purchased. The Summit Area YMCA was selected as the March beneficiary by local store leadership at the Stop & Shop located at 404 Springfield Avenue, Berkeley Heights, NJ 07922. The Summit Area YMCA will receive a $1 donation for every $9.99 Bloomin' 4 Good Bouquet purchased at this Stop & Shop location from February 26 through the month of March.

“Flowers can make someone's day, brighten a room or spread a smile,” said Tiffany Escott, Executive Director of Berkeley Heights YMCA of the Summit Area YMCA. “Now they can fight hunger too. Purchase a Bloomin' 4 Good Bouquet at Berkeley Heights' Stop & Shop in March to help fight hunger. Every bouquet sold will feed 10+ people in need.”

The Summit Area YMCA is a non-profit based in Summit and Berkeley Heights, NJ. Founded in 1886, the Summit Area YMCA has been working side by side with staff, volunteers and community partners to strengthen the foundations of community through programs and services focused on leading positive youth development, promoting healthy living and encouraging social responsibility. We believe in the importance of providing all individuals with the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Without adequate resources for food and nutrition, children and adults struggle to discover and reach their full potential. That's why since 2017, the Summit Area YMCA has partnered with the Community Foodbank of New Jersey as well as the Summit Junior League and other community organizations to provide weekly weekend family food packs to students enrolled in the subsidized food programs in Summit schools. Throughout the COVID19 pandemic, the Summit Area YMCA and its volunteers packed weekly boxes of food to provide to those in need in the community, and continue to deliver food packs each month.
