Youth Soccer Spring Registration Begins on February 3

JANUARY 2020 — As a nonprofit, community organization, The Summit Area YMCA is a champion for enriching the lives of all, especially the minds and bodies of youth. Youth Development is one of three pillars of the Y that drives us to provide meaningful and impactful services that strengthen the foundations of community. That’s why we offer a variety of classes and programs in youth enrichment, child care and early education, summer camps, swim lessons and sports for children to enjoy, learn, grow and thrive in.

Beginning February 3, 2020, the Summit Area YMCA will open Spring Session program registration, and among many wonderful youth programs, registration for a number of Soccer programs including Youth Soccer Association, Indoor Soccer League, Pee Wee Soccer, Youth Soccer Clinics and more.

The Youth Soccer Association is a noncompetitive, co-ed youth sports program designed to teach kids ages 2.5-9 the basics of soccer.

Children are able to expend their energy while having plenty of fun dribbling, passing and shooting on the soccer field.
In addition to physical skills and game play, our team of caring volunteer coaches and Summit Area YMCA Staff make sure kids also learn about the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship while also building self-esteem, confidence, and more. The Y’s four core values of respect, honesty, caring and responsibility are taught and practiced by the youth participating in our programs.

Children meet each week for recreation at local soccer fields, while games are held on Sundays so that busy parents are able to bond with their children on the weekends. For some, the YSA not only bonds families through tradition, but also provides social opportunities with other families. “I coach for the YMCA because I have played soccer for many years and my mom was my first coach,” says Caroline Doyle, YSA soccer coach. “The YMCA provides me with the opportunity to continue that tradition with my children and share my love of the sport with other young athletes.”

Games are played on Sundays at the Summit Middle School Field beginning on April 19th through June 7th. Enjoy Early Bird Pricing for Youth Soccer Association from February 3 – March 1!

To participate, players must have a red and black jersey, which can be purchased at the Summit YMCA Front Desk.
