Mental Health & Wellness Day | A Partnership with the Township of Springfield
The Summit Area YMCA is dedicated to wellness of the whole person. When the mind and spirit are not healthy and in tune with the body, the rest of your being becomes out of balance and out of sync. For this reason, we provide programs and services that enrich the mind, calm the spirit and rejuvenate the body. As an organization whose 1 of 3 pillars are dedicated to healthy living, we are committed to ensuring each member of our community can reach their fullest potential, and can only do that if they have a healthy mind and body.
On Saturday, October 19, the Summit Area YMCA will be partnering with the Township of Springfield to provide a Mental Health and Wellness Day at the Chisholm Community Center. This community effort will not only raise awareness about the importance of Mental Health, its maintenance and the removal of the stigmas that come with it, but to also provide exposure to various services that can help others.
The Y will provide yoga and restorative yoga demonstrations, educational and stress relieving presentations, rock painting, a Zen Room, massage therapy, small group training demonstrations, nutritional education, breathing workshops, therapy dogs and mental health vendors and resource tables.
This event is free and open to the community.
