General Admission Tickets Open August 31 for 8th Annual Laugh Out Loud Charity Auction & Comedy Event

AUGUST 2019 – The Summit Area YMCA’s Laugh Out Loud (LOL) Charity Auction & Comedy Event is back again this year on Friday, November 15th and general admission tickets will be available beginning Saturday, August 31! Join us for another amazing fundraising event at the new Embassy Suites by Hilton in Berkeley Heights with a new host and a new lineup of comedians!

The Summit Area YMCA is happy to welcome Adam Zucker aboard as the LOL host for 2019! You may recognize Adam Zucker, a local Summit resident, as the lead anchor for CBS Sports Network, hosting various studio shows including Inside College Football and Inside College Basketball.

“I am so excited to host the Y’s LOL event this year. I live here in Summit with my wife and kids, and we love what the Y stands for.” said Adam. “We can’t wait to see how much we can fundraise for the Y and all the great programs and services it provides for the Summit area.”

Adam Zucker will be joined by three standup comedians on the Embassy Suites stage to provide a night of not just laughter, but a chance for the community to support the Y’s cause and mission in strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Laugh Out Loud event raises funds that contribute to the Y’s ability to support the community by providing financial assistance to those who cannot afford Y programs and services like membership, summer camp, childcare, sports, enrichment classes, as well as through subsidized health and wellness programs.

“This event owes its success to the generous support of our sponsors, guests, donors and all the hard work of the volunteers and staff that spend hours planning and making sure everything falls into place.” said Paul Kieltyka, President and CEO of the Summit Area YMCA. “This LOL fundraiser is just an indirect way for the community to come together and support each other. The Y is a facilitator, a middle man that connects community, and the funds from all of our fundraising, be it LOL or our Annual Campaign, go straight back into the community through meaningful programs like the LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA cancer recovery program, or programs for Special Needs children, or providing financial assistance for military families to afford Y memberships and more. Except the only difference in this fundraiser is that we all get to sit down in one room and enjoy a fun night of comedy while we support our neighbors. Something so simple as a smile, as laughter, can bring people together to do so much.”

Doors open at 8:00 PM, with comics taking to the stage from 9:00 PM – 11:00 PM. The Summit Area YMCA is grateful for the generous support of the LOL sponsors, with special thanks to Platinum Sponsor Capital Group. Stay tuned for more details on this year’s auction items.

In 1886, we were founded as the Young Men’s Christian Association, but today, we are The Y; an association that values, and is made stronger by, its diverse people. We stand for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility — For a better us. We are committed to creating equal opportunity for all regardless of gender, age, disability, income, ethnicity, sexual orientation or religious affiliation. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive culture in which our four core values — responsibility, honesty, caring and respect — are integral to everyday operations.
