Worry-free Child Care Solutions for Working Parents

Worry-free Child Care Solutions for Working Parents

Registration is now open for The Learning Circle YCMA and Summit YMCA After-School programs, which serves Summit’s elementary schools and Primary Centers. The program, available for grades 1 - 5, operates daily Monday through Friday, from 3 - 6 p.m. Parents have the option of adding on an extended care option until 6:30pm, as well as a before care option from 7:00am - 8:00am. The Y also offers a Holiday Care program (when the child’s school is closed and the child care programs are open) so that working parents have the option of full day care (7am-6pm) without worry. New this year, is that non-participants of the Y’s School Age program can now enroll for Y Holiday Care at a daily rate.

The Y’s School Age programs are designed to meet the needs of working parents who need a safe, supervised and stimulating place for their children to be after school and before their parent or caregiver gets home. Students are bussed to the Y from their individual schools where, after a healthy snack and homework help, the children are encouraged to do physical exercise, participate in S.T.E.M related activities, enjoy outdoor play, engage in seasonal projects and family activities. Optional enrichment classes such as swimming, rock climbing, sports, dance and cooking are also a unique component of the Y’s after school offerings.

The Y is currently offering a special bonus to parents who register their child for before or School Age programs by June 21 -- parents’ get $100 off the child’s first month of after school tuition and $50 off of their child’s first month of before care tuition. Enrolling in both programs is $150 off the child’s first month’s tuition. For families and individuals struggling financially, please inquire about the Y’s need-based financial assistance.
