Enjoy An Afternoon of Local History at The Summit Area YMCA!

History buffs and enthusiasts alike can go back over two hundred years and learn about New Jersey's part in the Revolutionary War through the Battle of Princeton and The Summit Revolutionary War Beacon.  For an international perspective, sign up for The Invasion of Normandy lecture.  These three informative lectures are free, open to the public and will be presented by John Kieser, Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), Tom McArdle, Movie battlefield consultant and David Siegfried, Sons of the American Revolution, former Trustee of Crossroads of the American Revolution.

The town of Summit was home to the “Signal Beacon No. 10” one of George Washington’s 23 Beacon’s that sent warnings to the Minute Men in times of danger during the Revolutionary War.

The Invasion Of Normandy

The Western Allies of World War II launched the largest amphibious invasion in history when they assaulted Normandy, located on the northern coast of France, on June 6, 1944.
